This is what our apprentice Martin Mortensen tells about the 15-year-old Mads Hvolbæk Nissen, who has just put the tools down after a week's internship in Blaaholms workshop.
Fresh and cheerful is Mads meeting at work Monday morning at 7.00 am and already after a few days, he has learned the jargon in the workshop. He is practicing to weld and repairs a broken agricultural machine that he has brought from his parents' farm. Mads assists Martin Mortensen and Martin Tjørnelund on various tasks e.g. mounting of rotators. They really like that he is showing great interest in the subject and asking many questions.
He has got the knowledge of Blaaholm from his father and Mads thinks Blaaholm sounded like a good place for an internship. In the internship week, he is retrieved and brought by his father, who also works in Esbjerg.
Mads is in the 8th grade at Tistrup School. He spends his spare time repairing his moped, so he doesn't mind getting dirt on his hands - nor at Blaaholm.
Mads thinks it has been an exciting internship. As the week is over, Mads tells enthusiastically that he has come to know a lot of people, and the possibilities for an apprenticeship have already been discussed with Mikael Schade.
