Jan is happy - a milestone is reached. The apprenticeship test is completed and passed with a nice grade. Jan has done very nice bending and welding work and the result is a well-executed workshop table and a can press machine.
In 3 months, when the last internship is completed at Blaaholm, Jan can write multi-blacksmith on his CV. The education as multi-blacksmith is now not just a dream but reality for the 27-year-old Jan Jacobsen. Multi-blacksmith is a blacksmith education with an add-on within control and regulation as well as hydraulics.
"I am so happy for reaching this goal. I have received lots of support throughout Blaaholm and the teacher team at Skjern Tekniske Skole. They have believed in me and supported me” Jan says, proudly presenting his test piece of work that Jan's father must have in his workshop.
In 2015 when Jan was 23 years old, he started an internship in Blaaholm despite challenges with dyslexia and diagnosis of ADHD. In his young years, Jan had challenges in school and after elementary school, there were immediately poor prospects for education and job. Still, he gets in touch with Blaaholm, and an internship agreement is signed with Blaaholm's service manager. Jan follows the agreements during the internship period, and an apprenticeship contract is written, and here 4 years later Jan and the Blaaholm team can enjoy Jan's performance despite all the odds.
Gert Bo Kristensen, Blaaholm's Service Manager also welcomes Jan's apprenticeship test and personal development not least. "I am proud of Jan and the whole team in Varde. The colleagues have accepted Jan with open arms and offered him support and help when needed,” says Gert Bo.
The Blaaholm team send our congratulations to Jan.
