Recently at Blaaholm we performed FAT testing of our construction used for changing blade bearings at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. The equipment makes it easy to replace blade bearings without having to dissemble the entire hub on the wind turbine.
Project lead Jesper H. Bojsen from Blaaholm tells: "The test was a success and the equipment worked as intended. Siemens had some small constructional changes they wished performed. Siemens have decided that the equipment should be able to tilt +/- 7 degrees. To accommodate this, Blaaholm is now designing new lifting arms with movable lifting point for the equipment."
Project Manager from Siemens, Dennis Sinnbeck, has credited the collaboration with Blaaholm and the way the project has been handled, both during the design phase and manufacturing. Dennis attaches great importance to the fact that the collaboration has been informal, which means that the project has been carried out in an uncomplicated manner and without major delays.
At Blaaholm we greatly appreciate customer satisfaction and look forward to working with SGRE in future projects.
