In the production facility at Blaaholm you will meet Christoffer from Varde and Jakob from Tarp. They are in their workwear and Christoffer has his black cap on. They are in the process of installing bearings and loads of grease are used for the task. They are working late because containers must be packed before Christmas, so the customer in the US receives the goods on time.
Christoffer Lundorff and Jakob Andersen are both HTX students from the summer of 2017. Jacob started in the Service Department in Blaaholm in July, and in August Christoffer followed. They are both planning to study mechanical engineer, and therefore they thought that a part-time job at Blaaholm until the start of the study in 2018 was the perfect match for them. They could get their hands on the forge work, and they both think it has exceeded all expectations and they have also been confirmed in the choice of study.
Christoffer particularly emphasizes the tasks in Esbjerg with the assembly of 10 sets of rotators, which are to be delivered to a customer in the US, as a very exciting task.
Jacob likes the atmosphere in the workshop. "There are good manners in the workshop, and our colleagues are very helpful. We find it very good that we have been responsible for solving the tasks independently. Out of the jobs I have had, Blaaholm is clearly my best experience, and we can recommend to other young people like us, who want to study at a technical education, to apply for a job at Blaaholm"
In January, they both stop working at Blaaholm. Soon, the furniture in the childhood home will be packed and shipped to an apartment, in Aarhus., where they will be roommates. Blaaholm thanks Christoffer and Jakob for the effort, and hope that they have achieved professional and personal competencies, that prepare them well for the mechanical engineer study.
